Education in Idaho
There are almost 130,000 high school students within the state of Idaho. Over the past few years Idaho has experienced a rapid drop in high school graduation rate. In the 2010-2011 school year, Idaho had a graduation rate of 93% and has dropped 10% within the following two years. This extreme decline is due to a Federal change in the way schools must track students who leave the system. Even with the new tracking implementations, Idaho still surpasses the national average when it comes to graduation rate. Fortunately, they have one of the lowest dropout rates in the country with a 1.9%.

Idaho ranks 46th in the nation for students who go on to college directly after high school. Idaho is also amongst the bottom 10 states for its residents going on to complete a four year degree.
