Most of these restaurant chains are looking to bolster employee loyalty with benefits and higher wages. Chick-fil-A’s hourly wage varies widely depending on which state you reside in. In Florida, the average hourly salary for a kitchen team member is $13.26. Florida’s minimum wage is $11.00 per hour, which will rise to $15.00 before 2026 due to an approved constitutional amendment.
In California, kitchen team members earn approximately $17.00 per hour due to the higher cost of living. California’s minimum wage is $15.00 per hour.
While restaurant chains are trying to raise the employees’ wages above the minimum wage marker, some restaurant chains are still lagging. A team member at Arby’s will receive a 401k, health, dental and vision, plus paid time off, which are great perks.
However, their hourly salary will be comparable to the minimum wage of the team members. A shift manager or restaurant manager is typically paid better than the crew members. As a general manager, you can earn more than $40,000 annually.
