The cover letter is your chance to relate your expertise to the needs of the job role. To do this, read through the job description and pick out any of the desirable skills you possess. For example, if the posting lists “working with at-risk youth” as a major component of the job, you should feature any experience you have in this area in your letter.  
 
2. List your best qualities in the first paragraph.
