Contact information
The best practice to follow while writing your header is to add “Licensed Plumber” after your name. There is no need to write a full address on your plumber resume. Only list your phone, email, and city and state where you live.
Resume summary
The resume summary of a plumber’s resume should include your top skills, and highlights of your work experience and training to stand out from the competition. The resume summary should be no more than two to three short sentences so the recruiter can quickly understand your qualifications.
Skills Section
Though a plumber can perform various tasks, some basic skills apply to all plumbing job types. Here are some examples of these key skills that will help you create a winning plumber resume:
- Experience with varying pipe fittings and materials, such as saws, threading, and water piping systems
- Track record of complicated plumbing systems and troubleshooting
- High-end knowledge in repairing, modifying, and assembling plumbing systems
- Strong pipe installing abilities for heat, water, and drainage systems, such as bathtubs, faucets, hot water heaters, garbage disposals, and dishwashers
- Vast knowledge of plumbing codes and trade practices
- Ability to perform pressure and hydrostatic tests to detect leakages
- Knowledge of plumbing tools and ability to handle PVC, soldering, and water lines

Work experience
Include all of your work history in reverse chronological order, starting with the most recent experience. You will want to include the company name, dates of employment showing your years of experience, your job title. For each job, be sure to include your top three to five achievements.
Education
This section should include all of your previous education history, including a high school diploma or any advanced vocational training. You may include any apprenticeships. If you attended plumbing school, be sure to include the school name and the dates you attended.
Training and Certifications
List all of your plumbing-related certifications as they prove that you have gained and developed skills as a plumber. Include the name of the certification, and details such as how it was obtained, such as the name of the certifying body, and where it was issued.
