Civil engineering comes with a variety of specialties. For example, while structural engineering projects and geotechnical engineering projects might both call for civil engineers, they’re going to be looking for two different types of people with two different sets of skills. Be sure you list the specific type of civil engineer job you’re looking for and use your skills and experience to back up that desire.

To start a civil engineer resume, you need to choose a resume format. There are three common resume formats. The chronological format is best for those with at least nine years of civil engineering experience.
