Cover Letter Tips Using This Example

Here are five tips to consider when writing your cover letter:

1. Your contact information goes in the header.

Include your basic contact information at the top of the page in the header. This includes your full name, address, email address, phone number and links to any social networking profiles like LinkedIn. This makes it easier for the recruiter to contact you for the next stage of the job application.

2. Always customize your cover letter.

You should always tailor your cover letter for each job application. Hiring managers want to see that you have read the job description. The job description includes important job skills and qualification-type keywords that you’ll want to use in your cover letter. For example, if the job posting calls for knowledge of reflexology, then be sure to mention that you possess that requirement if applicable. Customizing your cover letter gives you the opportunity to establish that you are the right fit for the position.

3. Start with a strong statement.

Try to hook the reader in your first paragraph. Your first few sentences should immediately frame you as a viable candidate by showing your enthusiasm and expertise. Perhaps refer to your years of experience or your many certifications; whatever your strengths are, immediately highlight them in the opening paragraph.

4. Demonstrate why you’re perfect for the role.

Each massage therapist job may be slightly different in its duties. Build on your intro to demonstrate the reasons why you would be an excellent fit for this job specifically. Expand on your expertise and explain your approach to ensure customer satisfaction.

5. Sign off with a call to action.

You’ll never land the dream job if you don’t encourage some action. Finish by thanking the recruiter for their time, then mention your attached resume and encourage them to take the next step. You can simply request a phone call or say you’d love to discuss the opportunity in a job interview.

FAQ: Massage Therapist Cover Letters

Have questions? We’re here to help.

You should always take the time to write a cover letter for a new job. It allows you to share a personal touch that gives the recruiter a better idea of your personality and expands on the details of your resume. Use our resume builder and resume examples to create a great one-page resume before using our massage therapist cover letter template.

Around 3/4 of a page is the appropriate length for a cover letter. This allows you to share the right amount of information with the recruiter without overloading with too much detail. Remember, the cover letter is still just a prelude to an interview. You can explain more about your work experience skills at a job interview.

This example works even if you don’t have much massage experience. You’ll just need to substitute references to previous experience with your other strengths, such as recent certifications or transferable customer service skills.
